Dawn Marie Chartrand: An Art Exhibition
Dawn Marie Chartrand is an Anishinaabe artist from Rolling River First Nation in Manitoba whose work celebrates culture, healing, resilience, and the enduring strength of Indigenous women and families. Dawn’s paintings tell stories of identity, family, spirituality, and connection to the land.Drawing on her lived experiences, lessons, and cultural teachings over her lifetime, Dawn creates artwork that invites reflection, hope, and healing. Her pieces often feature animals, strawberries, florals, and the Seven Sacred Teachings, each carrying a deeper message of love, courage, truth, and belonging.
In addition to being a visual artist, Dawn is a cultural facilitator, musician, and founder of OM-Digenous Yoga & Wellness, where she combines art, movement, laughter, and gentle teachings to promote wellness in communities across Manitoba and beyond She believes creativity is a powerful pathway to healing and connection.
Whether creating original paintings, public art, or community workshops, Dawn’s mission is to inspire, uplift, and preserve Indigenous stories while encouraging others to embrace their own journeys with strength, pride, and compassion.
